How Many Michelin Star Restaurants in the UK?
With the release of the 2019/2020 Michelin Star guide, there has been one new Three Star Restaurants, four new Two Star restaurants and a total of 189 Michelin Star restaurants in the UK
This is made up of the following;
- 5 Three Michelin Star restaurants
- 23 Two Michelin Star restaurants
- 159 One Michelin Star restaurants
Three Michelin Star Restaurants
According to the Michelin Star Restaurant Guide, three stars mean ‘exceptional cuisine that is worth a special journey” and these are the restaurants that currently have a three star rating.
Alain Ducasse at The Dorchester – Mayfair, London
Contemporary French cuisine served in the exquisite surroundings of one of London’s iconic Mayfair hotel’s, The Dorchester. Restaurant Gordon Ramsay – Chelsea, London
Established in 1998, Restaurant Gordon Ramsay has worked hard to achieve its three Michelin-stars. The flagship restaurant serves elegant modern French cuisine and dishes are meticulously crafted through a combination of both classic and contemporary techniques. The intimate ambience, unparralled service and the exquisite food are a winning combination that truly deserves its three Michelin-star accolade.

Sketch (The Lecture Room & Library) – Mayfair, London
Located in a quirky 18th century townhouse Sketch is known for its elegant French food designed for a sophisticated palate. This year it has achieved the top foodie prize being awarded its third Michelin star, which is testament to the high quality and innovative partnership between restauranteur Mourad Mazouz and super chef Pierre Gagnaire. Breakfast, comfort food, Afternoon Tea and classy cocktails can all be enjoyed here and with its arty vibe it is certainly a place for the fun and fashionable crew to visit.

The Fat Duck – Bray, Berkshire
Located in 16th-century building, Heston Blumenthal’s renowned restaurant The Fat Duck is a dining experience to stimulate all the senses. Highly innovative modern British dishes are served as diners embark upon the restaurant’s famous 14-course food journey. Many of the dishes on this journey are inspired by playful memories – many of which are from Blumenthal’s own childhood experiences and ingredient experimentation.
Waterside Inn – Bray, Berkshire
The village of Bray is bursting with 16th– century charm and is home to the wonderful Waterside Inn – a restaurant with rooms. The riverbank setting creates a relaxed yet elegant ambience where impeccable service and exquisite cuisine befitting of a three-star Michelin restaurant is offered to guests.
