The design of Rosewood Villa Magna has reinvented the original Villa Magna Hotel (dating from 1972), transforming it into a contemporary manor house oasis within urban Madrid. The hotel’s entrance, public areas, Villa 22 events venue, bar, restaurants and 154 guestrooms and suites have been transformed with a distinctive style and personality that resonates with a feeling of history – imbuing this new incarnation of the hotel with a sense of nostalgia.

The hotel’s 154 rooms and suites exude a timeless elegance: white walls, subtle accents, bespoke furniture, carpets, lamps, fabrics and sophisticated details create a contemporary texture and a welcoming ambience. Outside, the remarkable gardens, designed by landscape architect Gregorio Marañón offer a tranquil place to retreat from the busy streets, while architect Ramón de Arana remodelled the hotel’s striking, landmark façade to ensure every guest feels that inimitable Rosewood sense of place.
I adored all the design details, from the beautiful in-room bar, temptingly prepared with fresh lime ready for a cocktail. I loved the fresh flowers in the room and bathroom. And the elegant yet homey touches that made the space feel so much more than just a hotel room.

Inspired by the graceful cedar trees that surrounded the hotel, the elegant Cedros House offers spacious accommodation, with a sophisticated living and dining room, a private kitchen as well as a beautifully appointed guest room with a bathroom. This magnificent space is flooded with light from the large windows, offering privileged views of the Paseo de la Castellana. This suite can comfortably accommodate up to 3 guests and can be combined with a Junior Suite Castellana room.
Salamanca House offers a “classic contemporary” ambience, a flawless balance between the cosmopolitan and the local, creating a genuine “Sense of Place” that’s so important to the Rosewood philosophy. This spacious suite offers a total surface area of 240m2, with bedroom, dressing room, complete bathroom, a living-dining room, a guest powder room and two ample terraces. It can also be combined with adjacent rooms to create a four-bedroom suite.
Anglada House is named in tribute to the mansion built in 1870 by the eminent Spanish businessman and politician, Juan Anglada, on the estate where Rosewood Villa Magna now stands. This impressive 410m2 suite has two bedrooms, a living area, a service kitchen and a private study. The large private roof terrace, with a California-style outdoor kitchen with a grill, offers enthralling views of Madrid, making it a spectacular and unique place to host private events.
