The Mediterranean is one of our favourite destinations and The Luxury Editor has the inside track on what’s new in southern Spain.
Trocadero Casa de Botes is inspired by the rich Spanish culinary tradition and offers a wide variety of dishes, in true Trocadero style, focusing on Spanish produce. You will find a cuisine based on Mediterranean gastronomy with nods to other cultures, including Asian influences.
Located on Malaga’s Muelle Uno, the historic Casa de Botes building in Malaga dates back to 1946. The Lucas y Hernández-Gil studio has transformed it into a magnificent dining and entertainment venue with waterside views. With a marked seafaring character and colonial style, the new design respects this history with the use of warm woods, elegant design, colourful fabrics, and bespoke lighting combining to create a perfect mix between sophisticated and cosy, while maintaining the group’s signature aesthetic.
It will also offer large open spaces where guests can enjoy both the already well-known gastronomy of Trocadero and the unique views of the city of Malaga.
With a capacity for about 400 seated diners for lunch and dinner, it has three levels:
The first floor features the main lounge.

‘The opening of Trocadero Casa de Botes Malaga is an important milestone in the expansion of the group. It represents the consolidation of the Trocadero Group on the Costa del Sol, recovering the historic Casa de Botes building from 1946. With this new opening, we reinforce our commitment to be a benchmark in the restaurant sector and our intention to continue growing and expanding throughout Spain, continuing with our next opening in Madrid at Mayte Commodore, this September’ commented the owner of Trocadero Group, Dionisio Hernández-Gil.
Grupo Trocadero has emerged as a well-respected restaurant company in Spain, with a strong commitment to culinary excellence, attention to detail and impeccable service, making its venues sought-after destinations.
This new opening is the ninth in a family of restaurants spread between Marbella (Trocadero Playa, Trocadero Arena, Trocadero Petit Playa, Trocadero Zanzibar), Sotogrande, Estepona, Benalmádena and Tarifa.
Trocadero is amongst the most important restaurant groups on the Costa del Sol, employing more than 800 people. This lifestyle business has been built on the values such as family, tradition, friendship, nature, culture, and sport, which are part of its philosophy.
