The Westin Anaheim Resort is a luxurious hotel that opened its doors in 2021. It is the first Southern Californian new-build in almost 25 years, and its contemporary design is inspired by Anaheim’s historic orange grove roots. This iconic resort is located in a prime location, for Disneyland Parks and other major attractions in the area. It’s a firm favourite among families seeking the best family experience in Anaheim, as well as business travellers looking to mix business with pleasure.

The resort occupies eight acres and offers modern guest rooms and suites, a resort-style pool, and seven signature restaurants and bars. The Hotel boasts one of the biggest and best-equipped gyms we’ve ever seen and offers a vast array of wellness programmes to ensure guests feel fabulous from the moment they enter the Hotel. With everything you need to make your stay unforgettable, the Westin Anaheim Resort is the perfect destination in California.

Location

The Westin Anaheim Resort is located in the heart of Anaheim and is conveniently situated just 20 minutes away from John Wayne Airport. This prime location puts the Hotel just minutes away from all the major attractions and destinations of the City, including Orange County Beaches, The Packing District, Angel Stadium, and of course, Disneyland. For travellers seeking the ultimate Californian break, the Hotel is a popular choice, as it is adjacent to Disneyland Resort and within a 15-minute walk to Disneyland and Disney California Adventure Park entrances.

Rooms and Suites

The Westin Anaheim Resort has 618 guestrooms, which include 121 spacious suites, many of which offer the best views of Disneyland Resorts’ iconic fireworks displays. Several standout accommodations include the Park View Suites, which have 785 square feet of space, separate living and dining areas, and a spacious balcony with direct views of Disney California Adventure Park. For those seeking the most luxurious experience, the 2000 square foot Penthouse Suite with 2 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, a living and dining area, and a balcony that sweeps the entire suite length is the perfect choice. The Hotel is located just a few minutes away from Disneyland.

The hotel’s rooms are designed in a contemporary style and come with advanced technology to enhance guests’ stays. The bedside technology panels give guests complete control over the room’s temperature, lighting, privacy notifications, and requests for guest services. Guests can enjoy amenities such as a refrigerator, Keurig coffee maker/tea service with Starbucks in traditional rooms, and Nespresso Machines in suites. Additionally, the Hotel offers an evening turndown service and wellness touches like the Sleep Well Lavender Balm placed on the pillow, which adds to the elevated and personalised service provided by the Hotel.

Our Room During Our Stay

My family and I had the pleasure of staying in a Park View Guest room with a balcony that overlooked Disneyland. The view of Pixal Pal-A-Round with the iconic Mickey face on it was breathtaking. Our room had two queen-sized beds, with Heavenly pillow-top mattresses that were simply amazing after a long day at the theme park. We were delighted to find the Hotel’s Signature Westin Heavenly White Tea scented bath amenities, plush robes and slippers. Additionally, our room provided access to the Hotel’s Club Lounge, which offered continental breakfast, mid-day snacks, and beverages, including savoury bites. We enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially at night when we could enjoy a drink and watch the Disneyland fireworks.

Food and Drink

The Westin Anaheim Resort has a variety of culinary options available for every day of the week. From a quick snack and coffee at Blossom Cafe and Market to a delicious steak at Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar, there’s something for everyone.

The Tangerine Room offers modern Californian dishes made with seasonal ingredients and from regional growers in Anaheim.

The RISE Rooftop Lounge provides breathtaking Disneyland fireworks views, hand-crafted cocktails, and Mediterranean-style nibbles.

Bar 1030 is a busy lobby bar serving light Californian fare and curated cocktails.

Bella’s Splash Pool Bar is the perfect spot to relax by the resort-style pool with a refreshing cocktail and some comfort food. They have options for every member of the family, including grilled sandwiches and cheeseburgers for the kids.

Blossom Cafe and Market is a boutique gift shop and cafe that serves fresh coffee, healthy lunch options, and artisan baked treats. It’s the perfect place to start your day.

Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar is a high-end staple restaurant in the US. It is known for its enticing menu, which features the best steaks and seafood in the country. You can also pair your meal with an award-winning wine.

Puesto is a stunning Mexican-themed restaurant that offers guests a contemporary twist on Mexican cuisine.

Other Facilities

Resort-style outdoor pool and whirlpool. The tranquil resort-style pool and whirlpool are located on the ground floor, providing the perfect location to relax and soak up the sun. Private cabanas are available for rent, including a 20×10-foot cabana for larger groups, which features its own fire and concierge services. The heated outdoor swimming pool and whirlpool are the perfect way to unwind after a busy day exploring the nearby attractions.

Westin Workout Fitness Studio

The impressive 2,860-square-foot fitness centre is open 24/7 and houses the largest selection of state-of-the-art equipment from top brands such as Pelton, Matrix, and Life Fitness. The centre also comes complete with TRX functional training equipment, free weights, and cardiovascular machines, so you won’t have to worry about skipping out on that extra margarita or dessert after all.

And There’s More

The Hotel offers an extensive wellness program to help guests Sleep Well, Eat Well, Move Well, Feel Well, Work Well, and Play Well. To keep fit in the comfort of their own rooms, guests can rent WestinWORKOUT Gear Lending Kits from the concierge for just $5 USD. The kits are designed to provide guests with a full-body strength workout.

For guests with sore muscles after a long day exploring the local attractions or theme parks at Disneyland, the Hyperice Recovery Kit by Normatec offers a range of tools to help relieve aches and pains. The exclusive partnership with The Westin has been hugely popular with guests. I personally enjoyed the gentle air compression leg massage offered by the Normatec Go while relaxing in the Heavenly bed and watching a movie after a tiring day at Disney. The kits can be rented from the concierge for a very reasonable price of $5.

The Hotel also offers exceptional amenities and welcome gifts for children, including a travel journal and daily activities such as wellness walks and yoga to help keep them engaged and entertained.

Final Thoughts

The Westin Anaheim Resort was the perfect location for our Disneyland and California trip adventure. The Hotel feels new, modern, and timeless, seamlessly incorporating Orange County’s history throughout its design and ethos. The wellness offerings were carefully curated, ensuring guests felt refreshed and rejuvenated throughout their stay. Thoughtful and personal touches made us feel like VIPs, and despite its size, the resort treated each guest with individual care and warmth. We left the resort feeling energised and ready for our next adventure.
