Delicias Gourmet the gourmet food store and wine distribution group based in Marbella, as opened a new wine cellar, La Crypta / The Crypt, home to 600 references and 1,200 bottles of premium wines, and special vintages. Found within the Delicias Gourmet store and restaurant in Nueva Andalucía, Marbella, The Crypt is the new destination for food and wine loves. Delicias has also launched its new Wine Club for members and wine connoisseurs.
Delicias Gourmet
For 14 years, Delicias Gourmet Group has been the go-to destination for premium quality foods and wines, served an experienced team of gastronomy professionals. The group began with the opening of Delicias de la Huerta, in Marbella, and now currently has seven gourmet boutiques in different luxury residential areas on Andalucia’s Costa del Sol, including Marbella, Estepona, La Zagaleta and Sotogrande, as well as a new gourmet store, located in La Finca Grand Café in Madrid. In addition to the 3,000 differnet gourmet products sold in their stores, Delicias is also an established catering and delivery service and has recently branched out into premium wine distribution.
Delicias Gourmet store and restaurant in Nueva Andalucía was one of the first Delicias to open, and it here that The Luxury Editor paid a visit for a carefully prepared wine tasting created by the Delicias sommelier Emilio Javier Campos, and Delicias founder, Gabriel Moncada.
Wine Tasting
We began the evening with an artisan champagne, Abelé 1757, perfectly paired with gourmet smoked salmon, both available for purchase in the store. Next was Augustus Primer Rosat 2022, intensely coloured young rose that went a treat with a canape of crispy rice with tomato and partridge egg. The red was exceptional, a 2014 Artadi ‘Valdegines’ – such a treat.
The wine tasting was enjoyed in the Delicias restaurant, a popular meeting place for those looking to enjoy the very finest produce in a relaxed environment – perfect for breakfast, mid-morning treats, a tasty lunch, afterwork drink or gastronomic dinner.
La Crypta / The Crypt
The Crypt is impressive – bringing to the local area exceptional wines from prestigious national and international wineries. Verticals include the best vintages of Vega Sicilia Único, Pingus by Peter Sisseck, L’Ermita by Álvaro Palacios, as well as a selection of the main Bordeaux, Champagnes, Champagnes, L’Ermita
Bordeaux, champagnes, fortified wines, cavas and limited editions of Macallan whisky. There are also some extraordinary collectable wines from Jerez, with sherries from the 1950s!
Connoisseurs will recognise in this cellar a great collection of wines with 100 Parker Points such as Pingus 2014, El Pisón 2004, Toro Albalá Convento Selección 1946, Torbreck The Laird 2005, L’Ermita 2013, Reliquia Barbadillo Palo Cortado, Pérez Barquero 1905 Amontillado Solera Fundacional or Petrus 2010.
Wine Club
The Wine Club of The Crypt (La Cripta) has recently been unveiled by Delicias Gourmet Group as their distinguished club for members who will enjoy privileges such as private sales with access to exclusive wine quotas, and special discounts the biweekly selection of El Club, personalized advice from Delicias Gourmet Group sommeliers, free home delivery service, and discounts and invitations to tastings and wine pairings. The annual fee to belong to the wine club is 150 € and includes a cumulative bonus of 5 € for every 50 € of wine purchases and one wine tourism meeting per year, which includes a visit to a winery with breakfast and tasting.
With the objective of satisfying the demands of its clientele, the development of Delicias Gourmet has been organic, constantly evolving and reinventing itself by listening carefully to their requests.
