A prominent 461-meter-high skyscraper, overlooking the Saigon River, was chosen as the home for Vinpearl Landmark 81. Every bit the showcase hotel, it’s the epitome of a prosperous and modern Ho Chi Minh City. And as Vietnam’s inaugural Autograph Collection hotel, the five-star property is setting the tone for what’s to come.
A beacon of light on the horizon
Found on the west bank of the Saigon River in Ho Chi Minh City’s Binh Thanh district, Vinpearl Landmark 81 is surrounded by parks and amenities, with the city’s main attractions close by. It occupies the 47th to 71st floors of the building (the others comprise a lifestyle mall, an ice skating rink, a cinema, dining venues and a kids’ play centre). The skyscraper took inspiration from a local folk tale, whereby Thanh Giong, aged three, rode into battle, defended his country and defeated the enemy with just a bundle of bamboo. Like this bamboo, the building stands strong, designed as a symbol of Vietnamese national pride. Totalling 81 stories and completed in 2018, it’s visible across the city, with its peak often enveloped in the clouds.
Sanctuaries in the sky
223 bedrooms and suites begin from the 49th floor, with huge windows proffering pre-eminent views. The interior design incorporates artistic flourishes, contemporary Vietnamese motifs, a signature scent and state-of-the-art mod cons. Up on the 68th floor is a 488-square-meter Presidential Suite, while the 71st-floor club lounge (the highest of its kind in the country) serves this and the rest of the higher-category rooms.

The Akoya pearl
