International interior design firm 1508’s Bangkok Studio has been appointed as the interior designer for three debut IHG Hotels & Resorts in Nepal. This collaboration will introduce the InterContinental and Hotel Indigo brands to the Nepalese market for the first time, with the opening of Hotel Indigo Pokhara Gharipatan, InterContinental Resort Pokhara Begnas Lake, and InterContinental Resort Chitwan, Meghauli. This expansion will add nearly 500 rooms to IHG’s luxury lifestyle portfolio in Nepal, highlighting the country’s growing appeal as a luxury travel destination.
Founded in London in 2010, 1508 is celebrated for its impeccable design work, having designed some of the world’s most luxurious hotels and residences, such as the Carlton Tower Jumeirah and the OWO Residences by Raffles in London, and the Grand InterContinental Seoul. The firm’s Bangkok studio will now bring its expertise to the picturesque landscapes of Nepal, marking its debut hospitality project in South Asia.

Hotel Indigo Pokhara – Opening Q3 2025
Hotel Indigo properties are known for reflecting the unique character of their surroundings. Located in Pokhara’s Gharipatan area, Hotel Indigo Pokhara will cater to both business and leisure guests. The 100-key hotel will feature a retail store, health club, spa, club lounge, business centre, recreation areas, and a swimming pool. Meeting facilities will include two meeting rooms, a ballroom, and a boardroom. Guests can enjoy a neighbourhood café, speciality restaurant, lobby lounge, and bar, all designed to reflect the local traditions and natural beauty of the region.
InterContinental Pokhara Begnas Lake – Opening Q2 2025
Situated on the banks of Begnas Lake, InterContinental Pokhara Begnas Lake will offer 80 rooms, various dining options, a kids and teens club, a spa, Club InterContinental, and a swimming pool. The design will draw inspiration from Nepalese art, crafts, and natural materials, harmonising with the surrounding landscape. The hotel aims to preserve the natural beauty of its setting while offering modern luxury and comfort.
InterContinental Resort Chitwan – Opening Q3 2025
Located in Meghauli Village near Chitwan National Park, InterContinental Resort Chitwan will feature 80 rooms, dining options, bars, a kids and teens club, a spa, recreation areas, and a swimming pool. The design will reflect the vibrant life along the Rapti River, incorporating elements of local wildlife, indigenous artistry, and culture. This approach ensures an authentic sense of place, blending tradition with modern luxury.
