It’s felt like a long time coming, but summer is here! What’s more the Balearic islands are open, and they are also amongst the list of coveted destinations considered safe for travel. So, we didn’t hesitate to catch a flight to the White Island for some much needed fun in the sun at Hard Rock Hotel Ibiza.
Hard Rock Style
Hard Rock is a global phenomenon – a brand that everyone has heard of. Yet do you know what to expect at a Hard Rock Hotel? I wasn’t sure to be honest, thinking maybe it was just for young couples or maybe karaoke aficionados. Well, discard any preconceptions. As our visit to Hard Rock Hotel Ibiza showed me, these hotels know how to create a fun and entertaining vacation whatever your age – from young people through to families; and us more mature folk are still young at heart! In fact, as a child of the 80s, the music of my generation is still the best right?!
VIP Service
Hard Rock Hotel Ibiza is right on the legendary Playa d’en Bossa, an easy 15 minute transfer from the island’s airport. The Hotel captures the all-American buzz of the Hard Rock brand and fuses it with the warmth and friendliness of Ibiza hospitality. So, expect some sparkling VIP treatment, like Valet Parking when you arrive (yeah, I chose to rent a car, as Ibiza makes for an easy island to explore and there’s plenty of fun vehicles to rent from Mustang convertibles to Jeeps through the Hard Rock Ibiza Change The Way car rental service). Check-in is a breeze, and all carefully choregraphed to meet and exceed the health and safety guidelines and you can also choose VIP private check-in for that extra Rock Star experience.
Rooms & Suites with Star Quality
If you can drag yourself away from checking out all the rock and pop memorabilia, from the Beatles, Freddie Mercury to Rihanna, that fills the public spaces of the hotel, then get up to your room – it will impress. There are almost 500 guest rooms, from Deluxe rooms to swim-up suites.
I can recommend the Studio Suite Gold rooms – they epitomise the quality, fun, and style of Hard Rock Hotels – expect mood lighting, luxurious bedding, king size beds, designer furniture, a terrace overlooking the sea or the swimming pool, 24-hour room service, and Wi-Fi. Our Studio Suite had a spa bath that feels like its floating in the sky, over the beach!
Bathroom amenities are abundant and by the hotel’s Rock Spa brand, which is a great reminder to head on down to the Hard Rock Ibiza Rock Spa.
TATEL Ibiza Restaurant
The surprises just kept coming during our stay at Hard Rock Hotel Ibiza. One of the biggest, was TATEL Ibiza Restaurant, the hotel’s signature restaurant that really rocked. Think great cocktails, and gourmet food set to live DJ sets. The setting is theatrical and flamboyant with bold interior design and sea view dining terraces. Service is professional, yet with the Hard Rock edge, a young and dynamic team that make sure guests have a great evening.
The menu is diverse and elegant – try the burrata with honey and lavender for an aromatic start to your meal, the signature truffle ‘tortilla’, or maybe some Andalucian style crispy calamari. Principal dishes impress, whether you choose fresh fish, a steak from the grill or classic dishes like chicken Milanese. The atmosphere is lively, and you’ll end up chatting to other guests and having a great evening.
Live Music
Hard Rock is all about the music and at the hotel you enjoy live performers from breakfast to dinner.
What’s more Hard Rock Hotel Ibiza has already hosted the first pilot live concert event on their property. Attended by some 1,500 essential workers as a way of saying ‘thank you’ for their contribution during the pandemic, ‘The Children of the ‘80s’ concert featured performances by regular DJs Quique Tejada, Toni Peret and José María Castells, members of the DJ trio Dream Team Reload, as well as Petit & Vázquez, creators of the popular party La Movida Ibiza, along with saxophonist Lugotti. It’s an exciting and optimistic sign of live music events returning to Ibiza.
Playa d’en Bossa and Beyond
Hard Rock Ibiza is right in the beach, so if the hotel pools and sun decks don’t appeal, then head for the loungers on the sand. This is Ibiza longest beach, a vibrant area of beach clubs, bars and restaurants that embody the energy of the White Island.
Close by is Ibiza Town with its UNESCO old town, and taking a rental car means you can discover the best coves, bays, and sunset spots. It’s a magical island.
Wellness
The Rock Spa is on the ground and lower floors at the heart of the property. The outdoor garden with pool and loungers is a place to relax and recuperate after the night before. Inside the spa has a comprehensive thermal water circuit and private treatment rooms. Expect full salon services too.
Family Fun
One of the many appealing things about Hard Rock Ibiza was the inclusive atmosphere, and that extended to welcoming families too. A range of services include the Rockstar kids club.
