La Esperanza Granada – Wedding Venue & Villa Rental

Southern Spain is one of Europe’s most desirable wedding destinations and a favourite for luxury villa escapes. Now visitors can now discover a new addition to Andalucia, with the opening of La Esperanza Granada.

This Hacienda-style property, evocative of a Spanish Revival Mission, hopes to emerge as one of the leading wedding venues in the region. The country house, with views out across the Lecrin valley, can also be rented by a couple (there is a self-contained 1-bedroom ‘villa’, or by a large family or group, taking the entire property of 5 rooms.

The self-contained ‘villa’ has a 1-bedroom ‘La Feliz’ suite with terrace. In the guest wing of the main property there is an additional suite ‘la Majestuosa’, and 3 further ensuite double guest rooms, as well as a twin guestroom – all have private terraces.

During my visit in March, La Esperanza Granada was putting the final touches to the property, in preparation for opening in April 2021. The new owners have invested in this once private home, remodelling it for guests. Changes include an enhanced swimming pool area with hot tub, an Andalucian courtyard patio with fruit trees fountain, and landscaped gardens with areas suited for events such as weddings, as well as viewpoints with seating offering vistas out across the countryside. 

Villa Rental

The property offers guestrooms individually, as a small hotel, with offers direct from their website and through online travel agents like Booking. com

However, the property seems well suited as a private property rental with pool. The self-contained villa has a large kitchen, which flows into a large dining room, that in turns links through arches to a living room with open fireplace. 

The Villa can be rented as a self-catering property, or with breakfast included, or with a chef and catering There are covered terraces, one with outside BBQ and pizza oven.

The guest suite La Feliz is upstairs, and opens to a large terrace and a tower overlooking the courtyard.

The guest wing bedrooms are reached from the main patio courtyard and each have a private terrace that overlooks a natural gorge.

Additional services are promised, including a chef, a masseuse as well as activities and private guided tours.  One of the owners is onsite, so is available to not only provide a personalised welcome, but also to make sure that everything is tailored to guest needs.

The pool area is elevated, offering guests 180 degree views of the gorge and countryside. There is space for sunbathing and sitting too.

Weddings

La Esperanza is also positioning itself as a wedding venue. It’s rural setting, with no close neighbours, does afford couples and their guests plenty of privacy, whilst also meaning that reception parties can be held without disturbing others.

Interior space includes a dining hall that opens to the main patio courtyard.

There is also space for an outside dining and also a marquee. There are plenty of viewpoints and garden areas that lend themselves well for different stages of the wedding celebration from cocktails to dancing.  The property also has towers, and other architectural features that make for unique wedding photo opportunities.

La Esperanza Granada is also available for other types of events.

Location

The estate extends to some 45,000 square metres and is set without protected countryside. The views of the Lecrin Valley are panoramic from the property.

La Esperanza Granada is within easy reach of many natural and cultural attractions.

Granada capital, home to the spectacular Alhambra, is 40 minutes’ drive away.

Sierra Nevada, one of Andalucía’s most notable National Park is an hour’s drive away. This is a great location for summer outdoor activities from hiking, biking to climbing, and also winter sports too.

Malaga capital, home to the Pompidou Centre and other cultural attractions is 90 minutes’ drive.

The Costa Tropical, and the charming seaside town of Salobreña, and the beaches are about 40 minutes south.
