With Father’s Day fast approaching on the 20th of June, we’ve been contemplating ways to celebrate and indulge the important men in our lives. And while a bottle of his favourite tipple is always an excellent option, a gift set makes for an even more indulgent present.

Hennessy has marked the occasion by releasing a bespoke and limited edition gift set, in collaboration with a group of specialist retailers (Master of Malt, The Bottle Club and Majestic). It contains a bottle of the extraordinary X.O spirit, alongside two exquisite and timeless tumblers to be cherished for decades to come. The glassware boasts contemporary styling, with a solid base, created exclusively by Baccarat’s resident designer, Thomas Bastide.
An extra old blend
A blend of Eaux de-vie gives the beverage its deep amber hue and layered elegant flavouring. First created by Maurice Hennessy and Cellar Master Emile Fillioux in 1870, the ‘extra old’ cognac was originally a private affair. Imagined for the benefit of Hennessy’s own family and friends, it went on to receive international fame and birth a whole range of high-end blends. X.O was embraced by the USA market in the same year as its inception. But after making the journey to Shanghai and Hong Kong, it became a favourite tipple across Asia by the late 1800s too, before spreading its name globally.
A cognac for every occasion
Part of the beauty of this blend is its wide-ranging suitability and evergreen appeal. Renaud Fillioux de Gironde, the 8th generation Master Blender for the Maison Hennessy said: “Hennessy X.O is the cognac for every occasion.
