Best Luxury Hotels In Darwin

The laid-back Australian city serves as the capital of its Northern Territory. A modern metropolis, it also places visitors close to nature, with the Kakadu and Litchfield National Parks close by and a central green area of the Bicentennial Park found at the waterfront. Darwin served as an outpost during the frontier times – a history that can be explored in its Museum and Art Gallery – and was named after the explorer Charles Darwin (who incidentally never actually visited the place). While Sydney Harbour may be more famous, Darwin’s is actually five times larger.

Like so many Aussie cities, Darwin has great beaches. This resort places guests right beside a stretch of golden sand. But if you’d rather take a dip within the confines of the hotel, you can enjoy the infinity pool, which provides an adults-only beach-club experience complete with bar and beats (DJs play at the weekend). There are walking and jogging tracks through the area, three restaurants, four bars, a spa and Mindil’s main event; the casino. This is open from 10 am to 4 am with pokies and ritzy table games. All of the resort’s bedrooms come with a private balcony or patio, minibars and some with direct lagoon pool access.
